Webmail FAQs

Due to recent changes to our website, webmail users may be prompted for their password.

Webmail users should reset your password to regain access to their account.

However, in the event that there are no security questions set on your account, you will need to speak to a member of our Technical Support team on 1890 260 260 to complete a verification process. Once you have regained access to your account, please remember to set security questions to prevent having to call in future instances.

Alternatively you may be able retrieve your password from your browser and should try the following steps before requesting a password reset:

For Chrome Users:

Click the icon with three parallel bars (Hamburger icon), then Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click Show Advanced Settings. Scroll down to Passwords and Forms and you'll see a link to Manage Passwords. Clicking this link will give you a list of saved passwords and clicking on any link will reveal the password.

For Firefox Users:

Access Options, whether through the orange button, Tools or the icon with three parallel bars (Hamburger Icon). Within options, go to Security. There is a list of saved passwords there which can be viewed.

For IE 10+ Users:

Please navigate to Settings, Internet Options, Content, Settings (beside auto-complete). Then Expand the webmail URL and click on show.

If you see a message on screen advising that your account does not contain enough security detail to change your password and you are an eir customer please contact us. If you are not an eir customer please follow the webmail password retrieval instructions for non-eir customers.

You can access your email from the browser on your mobile by clicking on the mobile link on the webmail log in page.

It's very easy to set up an account, simply follow these steps:

1. Go to the webmail log in page and click on the sign-up button
2. eir Mobile customers: click the sign-up link in the eir Mobile customer section
   Broadband customers: click the sign-up link in the eir broadband customer section
3. Enter your account details and click the 'continue' button
4. Enter your name and address and click on the 'continue' button
5. Enter the email address and password you would like
   Please take time to complete the alternative questions with something you will remember. We won't be able to reset your password without them
6. Review the terms and conditions. If you are happy to agree to them check the tick box and click the 'continue' button

Please note that webmail is a service we provide for our Broadband and eir Mobile customers only. Your account will be set up immediately for you to use.

Are you accessing your emails through an email client (e.g. Outlook/Mac Mail)? Please note that outgoing emails sent through this method will only send when your WiFi device is connected to an eir WiFi connection. Outside of an eir WiFi connection, you will need to edit the "Outgoing Mail server" to the outgoing mail server of the internet provider you're connecting to.

Note – eir Mobile and Meteor do not have an outgoing mail server. We recommend accessing your Webmail account using our mobile site outside of an eir WiFi connection.

It's possible some emails are being picked up as spam. Check your "Junk" folder. You can then choose to move the email to your inbox by selecting the email and clicking the "Not Spam" option.

Emails can only be sent via mail1.eircom.net if your PC/device is attached to an eir network. If you are using another provider to connect your device to the internet you will need to use their outgoing mail servers.

When logged in to Webmail, select the Preferences tab on the top of the page, before selecting Signatures on the left hand side.

By default, your Webmail is set to exclude spam from any search results. However if you would like to change this setting, log-in to Webmail and go to the Preferences option at the top of the page. Then under your Searches settings in the General tab you'll see the option to include spam in your search items.

When logged in to Webmail, select the Preferences option at the top of the page, before selecting General on the left hand side. You'll then be able to update your language preference under the Time Zone and Language section.

You can do this by setting up a "task". When logged into Webmail, open your Calendar and select "New task" from the dropdown menu. You can set a reminder when saving the information about the task.

When logged in to Webmail Select "Address Book". Your Webmail account automatically stores contacts you've chosen to save along with any you've emailed. Choose the list you'd like to manage and click "edit" or "delete" as appropriate. To add a new contact click "New" and select the option from the dropdown menu.

After selecting "New Message" you will see an "Attach" button under the To, CC and Subject titles on the left hand side. Select "Attach" and select the relevant file from your computer.

Please note: The total size limit allowed (i.e. the total size allowed regardless of the number of attachments) per email is 24MB. If you're sending a PowerPoint with a lot of imagery in it we recommend you select the option to "Compress Pictures" in the format section which will reduce the size of the images featured.

When composing your message, select “Options” and "Request Read Receipt".

No, your email address will not change and will remain @eircom.net

You may have received an email about your eircom.net email account if it has not been accessed for over two years. This suggests that you are no longer using this eircom.net email account. Under our terms and conditions we have the right to delete email accounts that have not been used for 2 years and we have contacted you to let you know that your account will be deleted unless you login and use your account within 60 days of receiving our first email. We will send two final reminder emails 60 days and 30 days from when your account will be deleted. To keep your account you need to take action before the deadline.

Under our terms and conditions eir reserves the right to suspend, clear down or terminate e-mail addresses and relevant passwords, which are inactive for a period of more than 90 days. Click here to see see Section 7.14 of our terms and conditions.

If you do not log in to your eircom.net email address within the next 60 days, your eircom.net email address will be permanently deleted and that email address, including all content, emails and email history associated with that address, will no longer be available. This action is not reversible.

Yes, you have 60 days from the date of your email notice to access your eircom.net email address. Your email presence is important to us, and we urge you to take immediate action if you wish to keep your eircom.net email address. If you access your eircom.net email address within 60 days following the date of this email, your email address will not be deleted and will continue to operate as normal.

Yes, you can still access your eircom.net email address within the 30 day notice period. If you do not log in to your eircom.net email address within the next 30 days, your eircom.net email address will be permanently deleted and that email address, including all content, emails and email history associated with that address, will no longer be available. This action is not reversible.

Yes, you will not be able to receive emails forwarded from this eircom.net email address, after the 60 day notice period has expired.Your eircom.net email address will be permanently deleted and that email address, including all content, emails and email history associated with that address, will no longer be available. This action is not reversible.
